The SACAA is taking applications for the 12 months Internship program. The successful interns will participate in a 12 months internship program to gain work experience in the following fields

  • Legal
  • Accidents and Incidents Investigations
  • Library Science
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Aviation Security
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering and
  • General Administration

NB: The monthly stipend excludes accommodation, transport and meals.

Requirements

A Degree or National Diploma in the abovementioned fields.

Applicants from all provinces are encouraged to apply and preference will be given to EE candidates from rural areas and candidates with disabilities.

RAF Internship Opportunity 2018

The Road Accident Fund is committed to youth skills development by providing graduates with an opportunity to gain work experience. Applications are invited for a Library Internship from unemployed graduates between the age of 18 and 35.

The Internship program will run for a period of twelve (12) months.

Work based exposure may include the following;

  • Online and print information searches
  • Online resources – EBSCO Host, Sabinet, Lexis Nexis
  • Cataloguing and Indexing
  • Library administration (incl. shelving and labeling of books)
  • Use of an automated library system (Libwin)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Library and Information Science degree (e.g. B.Bibl; B.Inf)
  • B degree with post graduate diploma in Library & Information Science

The successful candidate will be required to display the following competencies in this role:

Remuneration

The interns will be awarded a monthly stipend.

  • Conduct interviews, research and collect accurate information for overviews and features
  • Make a concerted effort to meet all deadlines

Requirements

  • Strong writing ability with a good grasp of grammar and spelling (this will be tested)
  • A degree/diploma in Journalism/English/Media Studies (advantageous but not essential)
  • Accustomed to a fast-paced environment
  • A positive can-do attitude
  • A hard-core work ethic and a serious interest in getting the most of this experience
